Waitress Gets Called N-Word in “Tip” Section, Then Gets Fired for Posting Receipt

Soooo…. it’s okay to abuse those who provide us with service, while they are let go for feeling some type of way about being abused? Hmmm.

  1. It’s a case of punishing the victim, and there is far too much of this sort of thing. The server is just supposed to sit there and take it, be glad for her no tip and being called a racist name. I feel it’s actually the same line of thinking as blaming the victim in sexual assault cases. In their view she “should have kept her mouth shut.” The restaurant is more worried about looking bad than standing up for their employees.

  2. This is certainly as low as it gets–Red Lobster should be ashamed. Servers are treated like crap anyway (which is wrong) but no one should have to endure this sort of abuse.

    • Very true. Unfortunately, Red Lobster (not necessarily as a corporation, but we can hold it responsible if there is no expectation for franchisers regarding such incidents) is not alone in this behavior.
